A straight, end-blown flute made from bamboo. The KENA is notched at one end and fingered much like a recorder. It is customarily tuned in the key of G major, utilizing the seven note musical scale introduced by the Spaniards. In some highland areas KENAS are made from the bones of condor wings and it is said that in Pre-Colombian times there existed KENAS made from human bones.
